The intensive fishing reserve of LA JAROSA, manages in a consortium with the Community of Madrid the reservoir of the same name located in the town of Guadarrama. This 93-hectare reservoir was built in 1968 and is mainly fed by the waters from the Picazuelo stream and the surplus of the Boquerón dam, upstream of this stream. It also receives transfers from the nearby LA ACEÑA reservoir located in the nearby town of Peguerinos. The reservoir is nestled in a fantastic setting with the Valle de los Caídos in the background and its imposing cross dominating everything. The preserve consists of an intensive and a deathless section and is periodically replenished with large rainbow trout. It also has a large population of pikes that always brighten up the day with their violent and unexpected bites.
