The Valmayor reservoir is located north of the Community of Madrid in the municipalities of Valdemorillo, Galapagar and Colmenarejo. It was built in 1975 and is mainly supplied by the waters of the Aulencia river, with a maximum capacity of 124 cubic hectometers and a maximum area of 755 hectares.
Located in an environment of great beauty, it allows the fisherman to contemplate the population of El Escorial with the port of La Cruz Verde cutting into the horizon line. It is not difficult to stumble upon a deer, roe deer, fox or wild boar throughout the day and it is also frequent that large flocks of ducks and geese fly over us while we fish.
Its banks combine beach areas with large rocks and its waters are home to good populations of carp, pike, perch and some black bass.
Although its waters have always been able to fish freely, in September 2015 it became a cyprinid preserve and its management is carried out in a consortium between the Community of Madrid and the Madrid Federation of Fishing and Casting.
Maximum number of rods: two, located at hand.
The areas marked in red on the location map are closed for fishing.
